The beach party I randomly decided on throwing last night was...a success! I'm surprised, given the short notice of about 24 hours we gave people and given that a lot of people have exams right now, and a lot of people had work the next morning!
Three cars headed down in a convoy to Ballynamona beach (which I had never been to before) in east Cork, and a party ensued with a big fire, tents, blankets, incense, guitar-ing and singing, snacks, BBQ, juggling, poi, diabolo, drinking and stuff...

A few people headed off kinda early, (like 1am) cos they DID have work in the morning, and the rest of us chatted til the fire died down and it was gettin a lil cold...then wrapped up in our sleeping bags!
Got up early this morning, had a fry in one of our friends houses nearby, and then went for a long amble along the cliffs for the day! Found lots of pretty little coves and beaches along the way...I was so tempted to swim, and the weather was lovely, but the boys wouldn't come in swimming so I decided against cos I would've been holding them em up for ages...damn waste of a good bikini! I've just arrived home now...


Also, an idea has taken root in my head (which is usually a bad thing...): Content!

• I spent the weekend in Maynooth with niamhybeag , we chilled out, ate pancakes, watched music videos and had a generally fantastically relaxing time...

• Got some pics from my bro in Australia who's been sleeping in the rainforest for two nights, and gone snorkeling off the Great Barrier Reef and on Safari this week...going White Water Rafting tomorrow! Lucky bastard! Was so great to hear from him though...

• My project is finished! (win!)

• The client gave me a box of Ferrero Rocher (mmm!)

• and I'm having a beach party tonight complete with fire, gee-tars, juggling, and drinks...must remember to bring my camera...
  

It's my mom's birthday this week, mothers day at the weekend, and my granny's anniversary on mother's day...Gonna try to do something nice...

My head hurts...

I thought I had a deadline for next Wednesday, so i was working away at my usual pace, content I'd have it all done in time...
Then I realised that I had the dates mixed up, and the deadline is on Sunday (yeah, weird time for a deadline, I know!).

It's been...about a month now since my wallet up and walked off on me at Itzacon.
I've finally got everything sorted out, cards reissued, money made up for and I just got my Student Card this morning, so I can finally get into the library again (as if that's gonna happen very often...)
My new wallet is shiny, black with pictures of cherries, and adorned with a Lego Batman keyring, and I'm quite pleased...

Yesterday, at Unconventional, I played in a rather amusing LARP.
I played a very picky, and potentially snarky, girl trying to find her True Love,
travelling with her aunt who was trying to set her up with very unlikely candidates. The girl who played my aunt dragged me around the inn away from people I liked, and towards those who were more "suitable".
About ten of the other players were potential suitors! It was mildly insane, but I enjoyed it, and hey, Lady Kima found the perfect candidate - a prince disguised as a soldier who carried her over the threshold!

Today, wish I could be gaming, but I'm getting college work done (ish)

I've noticed a recent trend in these posts where I talk about random things I'm eating and drinking at the time, so in the spirit of continuing this new tradition - mm, hot whiskey! Tasty good...and hopefully making me better as it flatters my taste buds...
I'm still at home, sick, although for the moment my tonsils have given up their attack. I'll keep my fingers crossed that they've actually decided to surrender, and that they've not just retreated for awhile to regroup. I've finished a course of antibiotics and I may wander in to the office tomorrow, depending on how I feel in the morning.
If all else fails, there's a stack of corrections staring at me here, so I can work my way through those if I feel so inclined.

In other news, there's not much going on really - being housebound for almost a week will do that, though...
My brother's leaving in about two weeks, to go to Australia. He reckons he'll be over there for two years, or that's his current plan anyway. I hope he gets on great over there, and I bet he'll have an amazing time. On the other hand, I'm going to miss him like mad. It'll be strange here without him, given he's more like a best friend than my brother, and we talk every day.

There are, however, two pluses! First, I get to go visit him at some point, and I've always wanted to see Aussie so that'll really be fun. Second, he's heading away and leaving his car behind, so that I can use it when he's gone.
I've been meaning to properly learn to drive for so long, so I suppose I had best get to it now while I have the opportunity of a free car till he comes home! I've got some basics down, but I need a *lot* of practice...

Best thing (by far) about getting tonsilitis: Excuse to eat lots of Ice-cream! Mmm...

Someday they'll figure out that the tonsils have some wonderful magical properties, and that doctors shouldn't have allowed people to get rid of them...til then, though, I'll wish I could part with mine!
Currently running out of energy and ability to fend them off, it's only a matter of time before they take over!

I've been wanting Snorta for aaaaaaaaaaages and couldn't find it in any shops, but these guys bought it off Ebay for me, and it jus arrived...

Now I jus have to avoid them for the rest of the day so they don't call April Fools and take it off me again :D

It's unnerving how it can feel like everything that's going on around you is far too close for comfort, yet simultaneously it all seems like it's just falling away into the distance!

I think I need some sleep :)
